For many students, earning a degree is only the beginning of the career journey. The bigger challenge begins when they enter the job market and discover that academic qualifications are only one part of what employers look for.
Communication skills, analytical thinking, workplace behaviour, professional etiquette, digital skills, problem-solving and the ability to work in a team can all influence how a graduate performs in a corporate environment.
To address this gap, Corporate Entrance Test 2027 (CET) has been initiated by Sarfraz Khan, Founder & CEO of Devobyte OPC Private Limited and Founder of Startup Times.
The initiative aims to create a structured national platform through which final-year students and recent graduates can assess their corporate readiness, receive a National Rank and Corporate Readiness Report, participate in structured corporate training and gain opportunities for employer evaluation.
Organized by Startup Times, CET is designed to create a bridge between India's graduating talent and the corporate ecosystem.
What Is Corporate Entrance Test 2027?
Corporate Entrance Test 2027 is a planned national-level online assessment for final-year students and recent graduates from recognized colleges and universities across India.
Unlike an examination focused exclusively on academic subjects, CET is designed around skills that can be relevant to entering the workplace.
The assessment covers quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, verbal ability, corporate awareness and workplace judgment.
The broader CET journey is structured into six stages:
Application
Written examination
National Rank and Corporate Readiness Report
Online interview
Selection for the Corporate Launch Program
Corporate training, employer evaluation and global exposure
Applications for CET 2027 Batch 1 are scheduled to open on October 1, 2026, with the application window closing on December 31, 2026.
The written examination is scheduled for January 31, 2027.
The Vision Behind CET
The idea behind CET is connected to a common challenge faced by graduates: knowing where they stand when they enter the corporate job market.
Students can spend years building academic qualifications without receiving a standardized assessment of skills such as workplace decision-making, communication or professional readiness.
CET is designed to provide candidates with a common assessment framework and an individual performance profile.
Every candidate is planned to receive a National Rank, percentile and personalized Corporate Readiness Report, regardless of whether they progress to the next stages.
This creates an opportunity for candidates to understand their strengths and identify areas where additional development may be useful.
The initiative also seeks to reduce the dependence on college brand or existing professional networks by creating a common national platform for participating candidates.
An Initiative Led by Sarfraz Khan
The Corporate Entrance Test has been initiated by Sarfraz Khan, who is the Founder & CEO of Devobyte OPC Private Limited and Founder of Startup Times.
His professional work spans technology, digital marketing, entrepreneurship and business media, giving the initiative a connection to both the technology ecosystem and the wider startup and corporate environment.
The idea behind CET is to create a platform that helps students move beyond the traditional degree-to-job pathway.
Instead of simply measuring what a candidate has studied, the platform is designed to explore how prepared that candidate may be for professional environments and provide structured opportunities to develop further.
Through the Startup Times ecosystem and its wider network, CET aims to connect students with businesses, professionals and employers while giving candidates a clearer understanding of corporate expectations.
How the CET 2027 Examination Works
The CET examination is planned as a 90-minute online computer-based test containing 100 multiple-choice questions.
The examination will be remotely proctored and conducted in English.
The planned section-wise structure is:
| Section | Questions |
|---|---|
| Quantitative Aptitude & Numerical Ability | 25 |
| Logical Reasoning & Analytical Ability | 25 |
| Verbal Ability & English Comprehension | 20 |
| General Awareness & Corporate Knowledge | 15 |
| Workplace Judgment & Situational Reasoning | 15 |
| Total | 100 |
Candidates receive one mark for every correct answer, while an incorrect answer carries a negative marking of 0.25 marks.
The syllabus includes areas such as percentages, ratios, data interpretation, logical puzzles, coding-decoding, reading comprehension, business terminology, current affairs and workplace scenarios.
Workplace Judgment Is a Key Component
One of the areas that distinguishes CET from a conventional aptitude-focused assessment is its Workplace Judgment & Situational Reasoning component.
The section is designed around situations that candidates may encounter in professional environments.
Topics include professional ethics, teamwork, communication, conflict resolution, time management and prioritization.
For example, a workplace-oriented question may require a candidate to identify an appropriate response to a team conflict or determine how competing deadlines should be handled.
The objective is to assess decision-making in professional situations rather than relying only on theoretical knowledge.
From National Rank to Corporate Readiness
After the written examination, candidates are planned to receive their National Rank and percentile along with a Corporate Readiness Report.
The report is intended to provide candidates with a structured view of their performance and potential development areas.
Shortlisted candidates then progress to the interview stage.
The online interviews are scheduled between March 1 and March 31, 2027.
The final selection of 5,000 candidates for the Corporate Launch Program is planned to be based on:
60% written examination performance
40% interview performance
The final shortlist is scheduled to be announced on April 15, 2027.
The Corporate Launch Program
The next stage of the CET journey is the Corporate Launch Program, a three-month online training and mentorship program designed for the selected 5,000 candidates.
The program is scheduled to run from June 1 to August 31, 2027.
Its objective is to help graduates develop practical capabilities that can be useful in corporate environments.
The planned curriculum includes:
Professional communication and business writing
Resume building and personal branding
LinkedIn profile optimization
Corporate etiquette and workplace behaviour
Excel, PowerPoint and digital workplace tools
Sales and negotiation fundamentals
Interview and group discussion preparation
Domain foundations
Live projects and case studies
Capstone evaluation
The program is planned to include live sessions, recorded learning content and mentor office hours.
Employer Interaction and Evaluation
CET is being developed with a network of 350+ employers spanning sectors such as IT and consulting, BFSI, manufacturing and startups.
The employer network is intended to play a role in candidate evaluation, mentorship and potential hiring opportunities.
During the Corporate Launch Program, candidates may receive opportunities to demonstrate their capabilities through projects, assessments and employer-facing interactions.
This creates a connection between training and practical evaluation.
However, participation in the program does not automatically guarantee employment. Job opportunities are expected to depend on candidate performance and the hiring requirements of participating employers.
Certificates and Career Opportunities
Candidates who complete the Corporate Launch Program are planned to receive a Training Certificate and a formal Internship Certificate.
The program can also provide candidates with experience working on projects, participating in assessments and interacting with industry professionals.
Participating employers may evaluate candidates for potential job opportunities based on their performance during the program.
This approach allows the candidate's capabilities to be assessed beyond their academic qualifications.
Dubai Global Experience
The international component of CET is the Dubai Global Experience.
At the conclusion of the Corporate Launch Program, the top 100 performers are planned to receive a fully sponsored 5-night, 6-day corporate immersion experience in Dubai.
The Dubai selection is separate from the initial written examination and interview scores.
According to the planned selection criteria, the Top 100 will be determined by performance during the Corporate Launch Program, including training assessments, project work and employer evaluations.
The experience is designed around:
Corporate visits
Meetings with global business leaders
Interactive workshops
Cultural experiences
International networking
The objective is to provide selected candidates with exposure to an international business environment and introduce them to new perspectives on global careers and businesses.

Who Can Apply for CET?
CET is intended for final-year students and recent graduates from recognized Indian colleges and universities.
The platform is designed to be open across academic backgrounds rather than being restricted to a single degree, college or discipline.
Students should review the final eligibility criteria, examination instructions and application requirements before submitting their applications.
Why Platforms Like CET Could Matter for Graduates
The transition from education to employment is changing.
Employers increasingly look beyond academic qualifications when assessing entry-level candidates. Communication, adaptability, digital literacy, analytical thinking and professional behaviour can all contribute to workplace performance.
At the same time, students often have limited opportunities to understand how their capabilities compare with a broader pool of graduates.
A platform combining assessment, career preparation and employer interaction can provide another pathway for graduates to demonstrate their capabilities.
CET is designed around this broader idea — starting with a national assessment and potentially progressing toward structured training, employer evaluation and international exposure.
Looking Ahead
The Corporate Entrance Test 2027 represents an attempt to create a structured connection between India's graduating students and the corporate ecosystem.
Initiated by Sarfraz Khan and organized by Startup Times, the platform brings together assessment, corporate-readiness training, employer interaction and a global experience into a single candidate journey.
Its first cycle is planned to bring together 1,00,000 applicants, 5,000 Corporate Launch Program participants, 350+ participating employers and 100 candidates selected for the Dubai Global Experience.
As CET moves toward its first examination cycle, transparency, clearly defined selection criteria and meaningful employer participation will remain important to the platform's ability to deliver on its stated objectives.
For final-year students and recent graduates looking to understand their corporate readiness and explore new career opportunities, CET 2027 is a platform worth watching as applications open on October 1, 2026.
